Introduction about Nasr Education Society
'Nasr' in Arabic means' help'. This is the basic ethos of the school.
Since its establishment, Nasr has gone all out to help society at large, in cash
or kind, in the giving of her time and energies. This year, the 45th year since
her foundation, Nasr has adopted the theme, 'Touching Lives Forever'.
Nasr School, an all girls school in Hyderabad affiliated to the CISCE
was established in 1965. It was founded by Begum Anees Khan who says
"Nasr was not a product of deliberate planning, but rather of destiny". She
was hunting for a school for her daughter and none in Hyderabad matched her expectations and it was then that
she thought of starting a school. She, together with her family, especially her mother-in-law, Begum Najmuddin
Khan, her sister, Mrs. Raees Hasan, her mentor,Mr. Prakash Rao and her friend,Mrs. Donna Hussain laid the
foundation for a school that today is considered one of the best in Hyderabad.
Nasr began with twelve students and three
teachers. It now has almost 3000 students on its rolls
and 160 teachers in four different sections- the Preprimary,
the Primary, the Junior and the High School.
Nasr started in two rooms, but the campus has now
grown to accommodate a basketball court, a throw ball
court, a badminton court, 3 assembly halls, 2 libraries,
laboratories for all the sciences( including Computers
and Home-science) and well-lit and ventilated classrooms
